Enter the Patan Museum first thing — before it gets busy. Budget 2 hours and use the audio guide. The bronze collection alone justifies the entry price. The restored throne room is extraordinary.

Visit Durbar Square at 7–9 AM for morning light, local vendors and almost no tourists. The square is most crowded 11 AM–3 PM — avoid if you can.

Taxi from Thamel costs NPR 500–700. Public buses from Ratna Park cost NPR 25 but take 40 min. Easily combined with Bhaktapur (30 min taxi from Patan).
